Overstock.com Cheers Senator's Patent Troll Crackdown Effort
Salt Lake City-based online e-commerce site Overstock.com is cheering on the effort of Utah Senator Orrin Hatch, for a new effort to ratchet back abusive patent litigation. Overstock.com said it was commending Hatch for his Patent Litigation Integrity Act, which the company said will help address the issue of "patent troll" extortion suits. Hatch's new effort looks to curb patent litigation by shifting the cost of unsuccessful patent lawsuits to the companies who file patent suits.
