Symplified reported it has been awarded a patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), covering its approach to access management and policy enforcement for hybrid environments. The patent, 8,418,238, was granted to the firm on Tuesday, and names Darren C. Platt, the firm's CTO; Coby Royer; Keshava Berg, and Joseph H. Wallingford, III as inventors. The firm had filed for the patent in March of 2009. Symplified was represented by Neugeboren O'Dowd PC in the patent filing. Symplified is venture backed by Allegis Capital, Granite Ventures, Ignition Partners, and Quest Software.
