TechStars Powers Another Accelerator, Kaplan EdTech

Boulder-based TechStars is continuing to build out its stable of Techstars-powered, startup accelerator programs. According to the group Monday, it is powering the new Kaplan EdTech Accelerator, a new acceleration program in New York City.

TechStars said the new acceleration program will focus on tech companies around education technology, and is being funded by Kaplan, Inc., the provider of educational and career services for individuals. The new accelerator will provide $20,000 in seed funding, introduction to angel investors and VCs, as well as access to resources from Kaplan. Kaplan is a subsidiary of The Washington Post Company.

TechStars also powers accelerators from Nike, Rackspace, Microsoft, and others. The firm said in December that it would be expanding its "powered by TechStars" program this year.
