ViaWest and
SolidFire, the Boulder developer of solid state storage devices, said today that the two have teamed together to offer up high performance, SSD storage to ViaWest's customers. Financial aspects of the deal were not disclosed, hwoever, the two said they will offer up SolidFire's solid-state drive (SSD) storage to help meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs), in ViaWest's KINECTed cloud, the company's VMware-based cloud hosting service. The two said the solid state drive option is ideal for heavily utilized databases, big data, virtual desktop, and high throughput virtual machines.
