Certiport has been acquired by a European publisher,
Pearson, in a deal worth $140M in cash. Pearson said that the buy will extend its product range and geographic reach of its professional testing business. Certiport develops certification programs and exams for the IT industry. Pearson said that Certiport had revenues of $48M in 2011. Certiport was owned by Spire Capital Partners, a private equity firm.
