Salt Lake City-based
Wasatch Microfluidics, a developer of protein analysis equipment for the drug discovery and research market, has raised $470,000 in a funding round from an angel group, part of a targeted $1M funding for the company. According to the Pasadena Angels, a Southern California angel investment group, it invested in Wasatch Microfluidics to help the firm combine its patented protein printing technology with an SPR biosensor, as well as help its platform technology move closer to a multiple product line. Wasatch Microfluidics is headed by Josh Eckman, and also has previously scored funding from the Salt Lake Life Science Angels and Utah Angels. The firm's technology is based on research developed at the University of Utah Research Foundation.
