Boulder-based
Orbotix, the robotic ball startup behind the
Sphero robotic ball, said late last night that it has officially opened up international sales of the device. Orbotix said the product is now available to 95 countries outside the U.S., and that international customers can order the product through its website. In addition to the extension into the international market, Orbotix said that it will be announcing two new apps next month: a way to use the Sphero to test coordination and memory, and software to enable "macros"--repeatable programs and macros for the robot. The Sphero is a robotic ball which can be controlled by a smartphone, and also is designed to interact with software through APIs.
