Dot Hill Adds Free Onsite Support
Longmont, Colorado-based Dot Hill Systems, the developer of storage area networking equipment and storage products, is looking to convince more customers to buy its AssuredSAN storage products, via a free onsite support deal. Dot Hill said it will provide one year of free, onsite support for its storage systems which are purchased through its resellers. The firm did not say what kind of response times it would provide with the onsite support, but did say that it also is promoting its three year, onsite service agreements and upgrades to 4 hour response time and 24/7 coverage as part of the effort. Usually, hardware firms charge a premium for onsite support of their products, which are a major contributor to margins for those companies.
