AmSafe Acquired By TransDigm For $750M
Phoenix-based AmSafe Global Holdings, a supplier of safety and restraint equipment for the aerospace industry, has been acquired by Cleveland-based TransDigm Group, in a deal worth $750M in cash. TransDigm said it is buying AmSafe from a group controlled by private equity firms Berkshire Partners LLC and Greenbriar Equity Group LLC. AmSafe had revenues in 2011 of about $260M, and produces passenger seatbelts and airbags for the aviation market.
