Santa Fe, New Mexico-based venture capital firm
Flywheel Ventures has just led an investment in a firm, which is looking to perhaps make the "tricorder" of Star Trek a reality. According to Los Angeles-based
Tribogenics, it has raised $2.5M for portable X-ray technology, from Flywheel Ventures and angels. "In a lifetime, a venture capitalist may only see a handful of investments with this amount of economic and human potential," Flywheel's Trevor Loy said in a statement. Tribogenics is based on research from the University of California, Los Angeles, and DARPA funded research.
