Boulder-based
TechStars is growing out its TechStars Network effort, backed by Startup America, to two new incubation programs. Houston-based
SURGE, an energy-focused startup incubator, and Los Angeles-based
MuckerLab have both joined the TechStars Network, tapping into the expertise and knowledge of the TechStars group in their own startup acceleration efforts. SURGE is aimed at starting energy software and technology companies in the Houston area, and MuckerLab is aimed at startups in the Los Angeles area. TechStars started its TechStars Network effort in January, to help take its methods and best practices to other accelerators. TechStars is headed by David Cohen.
