The Rocky Mountain Region saw $413.5M in venture capital investments in Q2, according to the latest numbers from PricewaterhouseCoopers and the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA), based on data from Thomson Reuters.
According to the latest MoneyTree report, released Tuesday evening, Colorado led the region, with $203.78M in investments in Q2, across 21 deals. Arizona had $152.7M invested across 7 deals, and Utah had $49.89M in venture capital investments across 8 deals. Idaho had one deal worth nearly $4M, and Montana had two deals, totaling $3.2M.
Nationally, venture capitalists invested $7.5 billion in 955 deals in Q2 of 2011, which was up 19 percent in terms of both dollars and deals versus Q1. The report noted that Internet specific investments hit a 10-year high during the quarter, with overall investments representing the highest level of investment in a single quarter since the second quarter of 2008.
