Provo, Utah-based Ancestry.com, the online family history site, said Tuesday that it has bolstered its online records with more than 250,000 new African American records. The firm said the records come from the U.S. Civil War, as well as slave records from New Orleans and Savannah, Georgia. The firm said the addition of the records brings the firm's collection to more than 3.2 million African American slave records. Ancestry.com's historical documents are used by people mapping out their family history and genealogy.
