Salt Lake City has made a list of "IT Hot Spots" issued today by online pay comparison site
PayScale, ranking number 4 in the nation in based of the ratio of IT workers to all workers and pay. However, Salt Lake ended up near the bottom of the list for its pay rates. PayScale said used the number of IT workers and median wages to create it list, which found Salt Lake City at number 4, behind San Francisco (1), Austin (2), and Seattle (3) as an IT job hot spot. Salt Lake had a ratio of 2.03 and a median pay of $64,300. That compares with an ratio of 2.61 in San Francisco and median pay of $87,100. Those numbers placed Salt Lake at near the bottom (11 out of 13) in terms of pay for IT hot spots.
