Gogo Inflight, the consumer wireless service run by
Aircell, which has operations in Broomfield, Colorado, said today along with Phoenix-based
Skymall that they will offer up free access to SkyMall's web site on AirTran Airways, Alaska Airlines, Delta Air Lines, US Airways and United Airlines. According to the two, the move will make free Wi-Fi shopping access to Skymall's web site available on nearly 850 aircraft equipped with Gogo's services. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. In a promotion of the effort, the two also said that customers who spend more than $125 on merchandise on SkyMall via the Gogo service will also earn a free, Gogo flight pass. SkyMall is the provider of the ubiquitous shopping catalogs found on commercial air flights.
