Hoku Boots Up In Pocatello
Pocatello, Idaho-based Hoku Materials, the manufacturer of polysilicon for the solar market, said today that it has produced its first polysilicon at its plan. The firm said the plant--which has been under construction for years, and faced a string of issues related to credit and financing--produced the polysilicon as part of a system commissioning protcol to validate operating procedures at the site. The firm said it intends to start commercial production runs this year. Hoku Materials is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hoku Corporation.
