Amtech Systems, a provider of equipment used for the semiconductor and solar cell manufacturing industries, said today that it is reiterating its fiscal 2010 guidance of $100-$105M. The firm said it is seeing a "strong" solar backlog, continuation of what it says has been a "tremendous influx" of orders in December and March quarters. The firm said that in the second quarter of fiscal 2010, it had orders worth $33M, including $28M of that in solar equipment orders. For the first six months of fiscal 2010, it says it had orders of $92M, including $83M worth of solar orders. Amtech's equipment is used in the processing and handling of solar cells, before they are processed into photovoltaic panels.
