Boulder, Colorado-based
Filtrbox said Thursday that it has shut off its basic, free accounts, as the firm is swallowed up by Jive Software, which acquired the company in January. According to Ari Newman, the firm is being forced to shut off both free, early-adopter, and "comped" accounts as it migrates towards B2B and enterprise accounts. Newman said the move was "bittersweet", but necessary because the firm does not want to support two versions of its platform, and so it can focus resources and energy on its future products. Filtrbox was a provider of social media and news monitoring tools, and was backed by Flywheel Ventures and True Ventures.
