Stirling Energy Systems Licenses Boeing Technology
Scottsdale, Arizona-based Stirling Energy Systems, a developer of concentrating photovoltaic energy systems, said today along with Boeing that it has licensed Boeing's XR700 high-concentration photovoltaic (HCPV) solar power technology. Financial terms of the license were not disclosed. According to SES, it has acquired the sole rights to develop, manufacture and deploy the Boeing's HCPV products globally. Stirling Energy Systems is backed by $100M in funding from NTR plc. The firm also has engineering and test site operations at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, N.M.
