Zerista said today that it has launched a platform for creating mobile applications for communities. The firm, which is launching the application at the DEMO conference in Palm Springs, California, said that its Mobile Community Platform allows soccer teams, realtors, wine clubs, and others to create their own mobile applications. Among features of the application are ability to support "check in", ability to charge for tickets and membership, and support for sponsors and advertisers. The platform uses mobile web access for its mobile support. Zerista was founded by Charlie Savage and John Kanarowski. The firm is backed by Kickstart Seed Fund and angel investors.
