NewsGator, a developer of enterprise social networking software, reported today that it has released a new iPhone application which allows users to access Microsoft SharePoint via the firm's Social Sites software. According to NewsGator, the app, which runs on the Apple iPhone and the upcoming iPad, will allow users to access Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft's enterprise portal and collaboration product, without using a web browser. NewsGator said the new software will allow users to send status updates, videos, and photos to its NewsGator Social Sites software, the firm's social networking component for SharePoint. Pricing on the new product was not announced.
