Micron Technology
has rolled out a new, solid state disk drive that the firm claims offers the fastest performance using the SATA 3Gb/s interface. Micron said Wednesday that its RealSSD C300 solid state drive offers read speeds of up to 355 megabytes per second, and write speeds of up to 215MB/s, using ONFI 2.1 NAND memory. The firm said the SSD is sampling in limited quantities, and will be available as 128 gigabyte and 256 gigabyte capacities. Micron said it expects the drive to go into production in the first quarter of 2010.
