A number of local, high tech companies are among the top 500, fastest growing companies issued this week by Deloitte, in its Deloitte 2009 Technology Fast 500 list. The annual listing ranks high tech companies--both public and private--by their five year revenues, and is one of the rare times many private companies revenues and growth rates are made public. Topping the list in the region was Phoenix-based Zila, a biotech firm which was ranked number 9, with 27715% growth, followed not far behind at 27 by First Solar, based in Tempe, Arizona, which had 9117% growth over the five years. Broomfield, Colorado-based ARCA Biopharma was number 30, with 7721% growth. Utah's highest ranking firm was Sandy-based RemoteMDx, ranked 85 with 2131% growth. The complete list of local firms:
