Examiner.com Buys NowPublic
Denver-based Examiner.com, the local news firm owned by The Anschutz Company, said yesterday that it has acquired NowPublic, a Vancouver-based firm operating a user-generated, local news network. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Nowpublic offers a site which helps individual authors report on news, comment on stories, and discuss current issues. Examiner.com said it will adopt technology from NowPublic, including its mechanisms for scanning online conversations, use of Drupal, and its publishing platform. The two will also continue to operate independently.
