Fusion-io, a developer of solid state disk drives, has scored an astounding, $47.5M funding round, the firm announced this morning. According to Fusion-io, the Series B funding was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, and also included prior investors New Enterprise Associates, Dell Ventures, and Sumitomo Ventures. Fusion-io develops solid state disk drives, which plug into PCI Express slots in servers. The firm said that it has named a new CEO, David Bradford, as part of the funding. Bradford joins from Novell, where he has spend the last 15 years. Fusion-io made the announcement in Orlando at the Storage Networking World conference.
