Adventure Central, an online web site which allows consumers to find and book adventure travel packages, has been acquired. According to competitor AdventureLink, which is based in Los Angeles, it is acquiring Adventure Central in an all-stock transaction. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. AdventureLink said that Adventure Central will be relocated to AdventureLink's LA headquarters, although it will continue to maintain AdventureCentral.com and other affiliated sites. Adventure Central was venture backed by Advantage Capital Partners, Allegis Capital, and Wolf Ventures, and had raised at least $4.23M in venture capital. Adventure Central was formerly known as Meridian 7.
