A Silicon Valley-based maker of web widgets,
iWidgets, disclosed today that Salt Lake City, Utah-based
University Venture Fund is one of its new investors. University Venture Fund--an effort which pulls college students into the role of venture capital--invested alongside Menlo Park, California-based venture capital firm Opus Capital in a Series A funding worth $4.1M, iWidgets said Tuesday. iWidgets develops software that allows people to create their own web "widgets" -- small software applications which can be embedded into social networking sites like MySpace and Facebook.
