Denver-based GIS information provider Intermap Technologies Corp. announced today that it has won a $1 million contract from France's national mapping agency, the Institut Geographique National. According to Intermap, it will supply IGN in December with digital terrain models of the French Alps. The models, IGN noted, kickoff a French initiative to upgrade its national geospatial database. Intermap has recently been collecting 3-D digital elevation information for all of France and 17 other western European countries as part of its NEXTMap Europe-mapping program.
