Denver-based StarTek, a provider of business process outsourcing for the cable, telephone, and communications industry, said Thursday that the firm will open up a new contact center in the Philippines. StarTek said the new center is expected to open up in the fourth quarter, and will be in addition to 21 existing contact centers in North America. StarTek said it selected the Philippines because of its talent pool of highly literate, English speaking college-educated workers, its communications infrastructure, and attractive labor rates. The new center is expected to house approximately 1,100 people in a 78,000 square foot center.
