Business optimization software publisher Omniture Inc. announced Wednesday that it has formed a strategic partnership with the leading Chinese language Internet search provider, Baidu.com. According to Omniture, the international alliance will give its online marketers direct access to one of the world's largest Web markets. The financial impact of the deal was not reported. Omniture quoted an iResearch study that said Baidu.com's share of the Q3 2007 search traffic in China was 73.6 percent. The same study noted that Baidu.com's market share for China's search engine marketing spend was nearly 61 percent. Omniture is headquartered in Orem, Utah. Baidu.com is based in Beijing.
