Tempe, Arizona-based Limelight Networks said Friday afternoon that it will pay $45M to Akamai Technologies, in the loss of a patent infringement case brought by Akamai Technologies against the firm. According to Limelight, the jury in the case, which was heard in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, announced a verdict in favor of Akamai Technologies. The lawsuit was over U.S. patent No. 6,108,703. Limelight said that it strongly believes that the firm did not infringe on the patent in the case, and will pursue all appropriate legal avenues.
