QuePasa Corp., operator of the online Latino community QuePasa.com, reported Thursday that its board has appointed Jeff Valdez as chairman. Valdez is perhaps best known for launching the first English-language, Latino-themed cable channel, Si TV, in February 2004. Si TV currently reaches more than 17 million households, QuePasa noted. In addition to serving on Si TV’s board and chairing QuePasa's board, Valdez is a board member for Maya Entertainment, a Latino-targeted film distribution company. QuePasa Corp. is headquartered in Scottsdale, Ariz., and maintains offices in New York, Miami and Mexico.
