Square1 Bank Opens Boulder Office
Square 1 Bank, a technology focused business bank, said Friday that it has opened up a new office in Boulder. Square 1, which provides banking services to high technology and venture-backed firms, credited the move to what it calls the "vibrant" entrepreneurial community in the Colorado area. The firm said it has appointed Ken Fugate to man the Boulder location from Silicon Valley. Square 1 Bank competes against SVB Silicon Valley Bank, the dominant high technology banking provider to the high tech industry. Both firms provide deposit services and loans to venture backed and high tech firms. The Boulder office is Square 1 Bank's tenth throughout the U.S.
