Avnet Completes Acal Division Acquisition
Phoenix, Arizona-based Avnet said this morning that it has completed its acquisition of the IT Solutions Divison of Acal plc. Acal's IT Solutions division is a European value added distributor (VAD) for storage area networking, networking, security, and electronic document management software products. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, however Avnet said that the business has annual revenues of approximately $200M, 200 employees, and roughly 2000 resellers. Acal's IT business will become part of Avnet's EMEA business. Avnet is a major distributor of electronic components, computer products, and related electronics.
