WD Picks Longmont for Colorado Design Center
Computer storage device manufacturer Western Digital announced Thursday that it has chosen Longmont, Colo., as the future site for its hard drive design center. WD noted that it has already signed a multi-year lease for the site and plans to have the design center operational by Dec. 1. WD credited the Longmont Area Economic Council with finding the location: 1951 S. Fordham St. WD explained that it needs the design center to keep up with rapid growth—the company said it has doubled its revenues in the past five years, from $2.7 billion in FY 2003 to $5.5 billion in FY 2007.
