Tempe, Arizona-based Syntax-Brillian Corp., a manufacturer of high-definition televisions, revealed Monday that it has completed the succession plan outlined in the 2005 merger between Syntax Groups Corp. and Brillian Corp. As a result, former CEO Vincent F. Sollitto Jr. has been appointed executive chairman of Syntax-Brillian’s board of directors, while James Li has succeeded Sollitto as chief executive officer. Li will retain his role as company president, Syntax-Brillian noted. Additionally, the firm announced that it has elected Bruce I. Berkoff to its board of directors. Berkoff, founder and chairman of the LCD TV Association, will serve on Syntax-Brillian's board as an independent director, the company added.
