Syntax-Brillian Corp., a manufacturer of liquid-crystal-display and liquid-crystal-on-silicon high-definition televisions, announced Wednesday that Wayne Pratt, the Tempe, Arizona-based company's chief financial officer, will resign. Syntax-Brillian said Pratt's resignation will take effect Sept. 30. He is stepping down in order to join a long-time colleague's start-up company, which is also located in Tempe, Syntax-Brillian said. Vincent Sollitto, Syntax-Brillian's chairman and chief executive officer said they would begin searching for a replacement immediately. Syntax-Brillian is best known for its Olevia-branded, high-definition, widescreen televisions.
