Aurora, Colorado-based Advanced Circuits, a manufacturer of quickturn printed circuit boards, said today that it has made a free printed circuit board layout software available to its customers. The firm said its new PCB Artist software is available for manufacturers, designers, and engineers in the PCB industry, and allows designers to design PCBs and export their designs in the industry-standard Gerber format. According to Advanced Circuits the software includes automated component placement and trace routing, and integration with schematic changes. Advanced Circuits said that the software is in use by Woodsys LLC, Boeing Co. Liteye Systems, and other companies, and also has been adopted by MIT and other universities for engineering classes. Advanced Circuits is a manufacturer of printed circuit boards used for engineering prototypes and other quick-turn designs.
