Solid State Networks, a developer of high-speed network content delivery applications, announced Wednesday that game designer Wizards of the Coast has selected Solid State's Branded Client utility to deliver the latest version of a popular Wizard of the Coast title, Magic: The Gathering Online. Solid State said Wizards of the Coast chose its client software application after testing numerous options. Solid State's software uses peer-to-peer software techniques, based on the popular BitTorrent P2P protocol, to deliver software applications and video. The software pulls data from other computers on the Internet running the same software, instead of from an expensive, central server or content delivery network. Wizards of the Coast is a subsidiary of Hasbro Inc. Solid State Networks is headquartered in Tempe, Arizona.
