Microsoft Taps Intermap For UK Data
Software heavyweight Microsoft Corp. and Denver, Colorado-based 3-D mapping specialist Intermap Technologies Corp. revealed Tuesday that Microsoft has launched an updated version of its Virtual Earth 3-D viewing platform. The product, Intermap said, is based on Intermap’s elevation data for all of Great Britain. Intermap said the result would be a more seamless and accurate 3-D experience for all Internet users who visit Microsoft's Live Search Maps for England, Scotland and Wales. Intermap is also creating similar maps for all of Western Europe and the continental United States. intermap is a provider of GIS datasets and other products focused on the digital mapping business.
