Internet Protocol television provider Helius Inc. revealed Wednesday that it has agreed to acquire online communications and training specialist PointeCast Corp. Terms of the deal, which is expected to close in the next quarter, were not disclosed. Helius said it plans to integrate PointeCast's line of rapid content-authoring tools into its line of digital signage solutions. Helius said it also hopes to employ PointeCast technology to capitalize on predicted growth in the training and learning market. Headquartered in Lindon, Utah, Helius Inc. delivers IPTV solutions—such as digital signage, distance learning and corporate communications—to businesses across the globe.
