Curtiss-Wright Corp. said Tuesday that it has acquired Idaho Falls, Idaho-based instrument and controls systems manufacturer Scientech LLC for $57.8 million. Scientech provides nuclear power instrumentation, electrical components, process control systems, proprietary database solutions and specialty hardware. Scientech reported gross sales of $46 million in 2006, and was founded in 1983. According to Curtiss-Wright, Scientech's business will become part of the Commercial Power & Services group within Curtiss-Wright's Flow Control division. Headquartered in Roseland, N.J., Curtiss-Wright employs 6,200 people throughout the world. The company designs, manufactures and refits products for motion-control and flow-control applications.
