EchoStar Communications Corp., operator of the DISH Network satellite television service, has partnered with Gemstar-TV Guide International and Ensequence to bolster its interactive directory content, the companies reported earlier this week. Using Ensequence's interactive video software, the TV Guide Channel will provide DISH Network viewers with expert commentary when they press the "Select" button on their remotes while watching the TV Guide Channel. The new feature will be available in Q2 2007, soon after the TV Guide Channel completes its move to channel No.117 and begins its full-screen programming on May 2. EchoStar is headquartered in Englewood, Colorado. The DISH Network satellite TV service includes around 13.1 million subscribers.
