Micron Rolls Out 8-Megapixel Image Sensor
Boise, Idaho-based Micron has rolled out a new, high definition 8-megapixel image sensor at the Photo Marketing Assocation tradeshow going on in Las Vegas this week. Micron announced two new sensors today, including a 5-megapixel HD image sensor for video and still images; plus an 8-megapixel image sensor designed for digital still cameras. The 5-megapixel sensor includes a sensor which can capture 60 fps at 720p format, and is targeted at manufacturers of compact high-definition camcorders. The 8-megapixel sensor also includes features like image stabilization and a fast auto-focus response.
