Venture Capital Fundraising Slows
National Venture Capital Association and Thomson Financial reported Monday that private equity fundraising in the third quarter slowed, with both venture capital and buyout firms reducing the amount of funding raised. Thomson/NVCA reported thatfifty-two venture capital funds raised $4.90 billion in funds in Q3, which was down from $13.4B in fund raised in Q2. So far, for 2006, there have been 158 venture capital funds who have raised a collective $25.4B in funds. According to Thomson/NVCA, the largest fund raised was Domain Partners VII, which raised $700M, and M/C Venture Partners VI, which raised $550M.
