Broomfield, Colorado-based McDATA has scored a win for its virtual tape product at an undisclosed national bank, the firm said today. McDATA said that its Virtual Tape Library (VTL) solutions were selected by the bank, which is using the products to make the bank's backup systems more efficient. No other details on the installation were released. Virtual tape libraries are used by companies to streamline backup of systems, and replace direct access to tape with disk-based devices.
