Orem, Utah-based Podango has unveiled a new, hosted service targeted at podcast stations. The firm launched this week saying that it will provide free, hosted services for managing podcast stations. The firm's products include features to allow listeners to record comments about podcasts, transcripts, forums, and marketing services, along with profiling and measurement tools for podcast producers. The new firm is headed by Lee Gibbons, former CTO of Infobase Media, and Doug Smith, former CEO of Infobase and former EVP at Franklin-Covey. Podcasting is the online delivery of audio broadcasts, which has been increasingly popular due to widespread adoption of Apple's iPod music players and the availability of broadband connections.
