Longmont, Colorado-based disk drive developer Cornice has rolled out its latest small form factor hard drive, saying today that it has a new, fifth generation 12 GB, 1" mobile hard drive. The firm's new 12GB drive is an addition to the company's existing one-inch Dragon hard drive line, which the firm targets at consumer electronics OEMs. Cornice is developing compact hard drives for us in mobile phones, portable media players, and other portable devices. Cornice also said that the new drives consume only half the power of its existing products. The Cornice products compete against flash memory devices for use in MP3 players, phones, and other devices.
