Google has purchased Boulder, Colorado-based @Last Software, maker of 3D design software, the firm said yesterday. @Last makes SketchUp, software used by architects, game makers, and others. The firm's software is used to create 3D models that plug into Google Earth. In a blog entry on Google's web site, Jeff Martin, product marketing manager for @Last officially announced the acquisition. Terms were not disclosed. The SketchUp software is available for $495, and Google has made an 8-hour free trial version available on its web site.
