Mark43 Raises $1.95M From Launchpad LA, Others

In what might be the geographically furthest investment so far by Los Angeles startup accelerator Launchpad LA, the accelerator is one of the investors in a Boston-based startup tackling law enforcement information sharing software. Boston's Mark43 said this week that it has raised $1.95M in a seed funding round, which included Spark Capital, General Catalyst Partners, Lowercase Capital, SV Angel, Launchpad LA, Rough Draft Ventures, Harvard Business School professor Tom Eisenmann and others. The company said it is developing a software product aimed at "21st century law enforcement", including working with departments in L.A. County to reduce administration and increase the effectiveness of criminal information. Mark43 is partially based in Los Angeles, according to Launchpad LA, and its team members are working out of the office at the accelerator. More information »
